KO-piler: paletizing products by means of a cobot
Our newest member of the family can handle the next application parameters:
- stacking on EURO and Bigger palets
- stacking of all types of products (boxes from small to big, trays, buckets, bags, etc)
- stacking up to 2400 mm
- at 7 single products/min or 7 multiple picks/min
- application of slip sheets
- with possible quality control built in (weight check, label control, etc)
KO-stacker: re-stacking of plastic cups after camera quality control
Avamoplast, manufacturer of all kinds of plastic cups, installed a camera quality control to check the in-mould-labeling. After this camera control, the cups need to be stacked again to put them in boxes or cages.
As the space was limited, we developed a solution with a UR10 CB cobot. seperating the cups and taking them by 6 at a time to stack them, resulted in a slow moving cobot, perfectly safe for the operators to work around.
Aside from the stacking, we also made sure the cups arrived at the camera control, coming from the take-out.

KO-palletiser: palletising from 2 production lines at the same time
La Lorraine was looking for a solution to palletise boxes up to 8,5 kg, coming from 2 seperate production lines. Furthermore, the footprint of this solution needed to be very limited and speeds up to 6 boxes per minute needed to be obtained.
We have developed a solution, using a UR10 cobot and a custom vertical axis to be able to reach the requested pallet height and to be able to reach the requested speeds, taking in account the loading of a pallet on the left and right, with different boxes.

Ko-alitychecker: turnkey installation for quality control
Maaat has a strong partnership with Penne and performs with its team several tasks in the Penne production. One of these tasks is the assembly of tank straps. The straps have to be provided with small pins. The people from Maaat press the pins in, but they also have to perform a quality check on the assembled straps.
To avoid human mistakes, the choice was made to develop a turnkey quality check.
KoMotion developed and built the Ko-alitychecker. A conveyor takes the part inside the machine, where a Keyence camera takes a shot and the software determines whether the part is good or bad. A bad part is taken out of the line by dropping the middle check conveyor and turning the bad parts into a container.

turning station
Our partner Itra needed a turning station, to turn packs of cereal 90° before entering in one of their packaging machines of BVM. The cereal packs pass at 75 parts/minute.
We developed a safe installation, with closed frame, where the turning movement is controlled by a servo motor.

DEVELOPMENT of a turnkey solution with Cobot to load several sheets, make an assembly and load the assembly into a press
Roltex is a tray producer, based in Aalst. They needed to automate a part of their production process, the loading of sheets into the press for the production of esthetic trays.
We developed an installation, where a cobot takes a sheet out of several stations and puts the sheets on top of each other, after which the assembly is slided into a press. |
DEVELOPment of an automated solution with Cobot to unload boxes and fill a filling installation with empty plastic cups
Vandemoortele at Izegem was looking for an automated solution to unload carton boxes, containing piles of plastic butter cups and load them into the filling station. A cobot was used to ensure a limited footprint. The safety of the operators is ensured by means of a Pilz safety scanner.

DEVELOPMENT of the K-asepacker: a custom built installation to pack bags of icecubes into boxes
Custumer Icelander needs to pack bags of 1, 2 or 5 kg into carton boxes at a speed of 30 bags/min. A robot could have been a possibility, however sometimes it doesn't have to be that complex.
We developed an installation with 2 turning valves and a pusher to be able to drop 1 or 2 bags at once in the box, which is positioned below the valves.
Aside from the packaging machine, we installed an Endoline casepacker, with a conveyor behind to bring the boxes to the K-asepacker.

Development of an assembly pressure unit and testing equipment for the medical industry
TMR Plastics, a producer of plastic parts for the automotive and medical industry, needed a straightforward unit to help them assemble medical components for their customer Bedal. Our pressure unit makes sure the different components our mounted together in a repeatable way. Furthermore, we provided Bedal with a conveyor to be able to pretreat their parts with a Corona-treatment.
Integration of Cobot for (un)loading Lathe
We were asked to integrate a robot to load and unload a Lathe on the Haco FAT booth on the EMO. We managed to pull this of in a very short period of time and integrated the cobot fully into the new Siemens Sinumerik One control.

Retrofit of Baguette production machine
To avoid down time and the risk of not finding any spareparts, our customer Crelem Bakeries asked us to perform a retrofit on their baguette production machine. We changed the PLC from an old Omron control to a new Siemens control and wrote the necessary software to keep the machine up and running. The people of Crelem now have the correct software and correct electrical drawings of the machine which they still use in daily production.

Temperature and moisture measurement and logging
Our customer Vitalo has different gluing cells. Their customers oblige Vitalo to measure and save these parameters to ensure the right ambient conditions during the gluing process. The sensors needed to be certified as well.
We used web-based sensors and wrote our own Logging PC program, so the data could be saved on Vitalo's local server. |
Flat belt conveyor combined with 2 separate X-axis
This specific testing unit has been designed for machine manufacturer Primetals.
For a specific upgrading project, Primetals wanted to exclude risks and win time by using this test equipment to simulate a glass cutting process.
Paper on a roll is transported by a servo driven flat belt conveyor and a pen is moved up and down the paper by a servodriven axis.

Pull grinding unit
Pull grinding is a machining technology to remove a small metal layer with high precision on the inside of cylindrical parts. This unit has been built specifically for the production of hydraulic cylinders. The positions of the moving axis containing the pull grinding tool can be adjusted via teaching, which is a user-friendly way of programming.
